Crush It with Gary Vee, Gowalla-style!
Last week, Gowalla HQ enjoyed visits from East Village Radio personalities AndrewAndrew, and also from San Francisco blogging machine and all around trouble-maker Scott Beale, of Laughing Squid fame. This week holds more groovyness with another name you know: Gary Vaynerchuk, or Gary Vee as you may know him from his wine vlog and Twitter account.
Gary has been vlogging about wine for quite some time now, and signed a book deal with HarperStudio in April 2009. His first book, Crush It: Why NOW Is the Time to Cash In on Your Passion, comes out tomorrow, Tuesday, October 13, and he is doing book tour to help promote it. Some of the stops will be Q&A sessions, some will be book signings, and others will include Gary giving a talk. The first stop is tomorrow at Borders on Columbus Circle in New York City. We’ve met Gary at SXSW and always have been blown away by his enthusiasm and energy, and wanted to join him on this book tour by creating time-limited Gowalla stamps at each of the stops on the book tour. How does it work? Well, at every place Gary makes an appearance with the book tour, you will be able to check-in on Gowalla during the time he’s at the location (actually, for about a 2-hour window) and receive a limited-edition Crush It stamp. Pretty cool, huh? As these are time-sensitive, they won’t show up as a possible check-in until the date and time of each, will then be available only for a short while, and will vanish when the event is over. The stamp will remain in your passport, and bragging rights will be yours. We’ll get you started with a list of the first few stops (check the website for additional dates and locations):
