Despite the Hollywood glamorization and exploitation of Silicon Valley’s finest nerds, we’ve been seriously stoked about the premiere of The Social Network ever since we learned that JT would be playing Sean Parker. And like the true geeks that we are, we knew we’d be making it a Team Gowalla event on opening night.

But seeing a movie by yourself isn’t cool. You know what’s cool? Seeing it with a hundred friends.

So we’ve decided to have a bit of fun: We’ve rented a screen at the Alamo Drafthouse on South Lamar for a private premiere of the film this Friday evening. You can’t buy a ticket though. You’ll have to find a pair of tickets on Gowalla to get in. We’ve hidden dozens of tickets (in pairs) around Austin at some of our favorite hang-outs like Whole Foods, Birds Barbershop, Home Slice Pizza, Sweet Leaf Tea, Frank, The Parish, Progress Coffee and of course, Alamo Drafthouse. Check in at one of those spots for a chance to win a pair of tickets. If you find a pair, we’ll send you an email with further instructions on when and where to show up.

We’ll also be holding back a small number of tickets (and any tickets that aren’t claimed by around 8PM on Friday) to let a few lucky folks in at the door based on who has checked in first. So even if you don’t find a pair, feel free to try to crash the party! Come early, and you may have a decent chance of joining us.
